I'm overjoyed that another bit of institutionalized bigotry has fallen, it's also pretty clear that it was part of a deal on keeping the Bush tax cuts. So the money gets what it wants, with a social bone tossed to the base. Reminds me of Nixon passing the Clean Air Act while keeping us in Vietnam. One small step forward to cover for three big steps back.
