Something special for "music night" this evening at The Wild Reed . . .
It's singer Damiyr Shuford performing the Asaf Avidan composition "Reckoning Song (One Day)" in the New York City subway . . . and joined by a young dancer. What results is a beautiful and spontaneous collaboration.
As is noted elsewhere online about this performance:
Artists speak the same language. So when this die-hard lover of Dance heard this amazing singer speaking his language he had no choice but to communicate back to him in their shared language. The moment his body heard the beat and the vocals all bets were off. The fact is when you love to dance, the moment your ears hear a good beat your body instantly starts to move.
