The Democratic establishment just lost New York by 31 points – and instead of asking why, they turned their fire on the left. Not on Trump. Not on the camps or the purges. On the socialists who just beat them.
Dan Goldman lost his primary [to Brad Lander] 65.8 to 34. Adriano Espaillat’s machine fell [to Darializa Avila Chevalier. Nydia Velázquez’s [preferred successor, Antonio Reynoso] lost to Claire Valdez. And the loudest voices in the party – James Carville, Jaime Harrison, Rahm Emanuel, David Paterson – spent the week attacking their own voters instead of the fascist movement dismantling the country.
Here’s the thing: they don’t fight the far right this hard. They fight the left this hard. And Democratic voters are finally seeing why – it was never about the country. It was about the donors.
