The following prayer is adapted from one shared earlier today, Palm Sunday, at the Spirit of St. Stephen’s Catholic Community.
We pray with all who walk the passionate talk.
We pray in gratitude for the life, death and resurrection
of Brother Jesus and the ways we remember him this week.
We pray with all who take the first step of inevitable journeys
and all who know reluctance.
We pray in gratitude for supportive communities along the journey,
though the step is ours to take alone.
We pray with all who share their gift of a "well-trained tongue."
We pray that every tongue be trained enough to speak the truth
wherever it is needed, especially our own.
We pray in gratitude for the many gifts and talents
God has given us that we might serve Her.
We pray with all who allow God to open their ears and hear.
We pray with all who have not turned back.
We pray with all who set their faces like flint
and with all who have such faces set against them.
We pray with all who are discouraged but not disgraced.
We pray with all who suffer discrimination.
We pray in recognition of the times we have asked in prayer
that God do something for us which we are unwilling to do for another.
We pray with all who honor the truth in another.
