This past Wednesday, March 4, 2026, Brian McGinnis, a 44-year-old Marine veteran and Green Party U.S. Senate candidate for North Carolina, interrupted a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on Iran in the Hart Senate Office Building with shouts of “America does not want to send its sons and daughters to war for Israel!” U.S. senator Tim Sheehy (R-MT) attempted to assist Capitol police in forcibly removing him, breaking his arm in the process.
Earlier today, Marco J. Williams offered the following commentary on McGinnis treatment and what it says about the U.S. empire and its propoganda. In doing so, Williams compares the U.S. to the Fire Nation in the animated TV series Avatar: The Last Airbender
