Marianne Williamson on The Free Press – 7/19/24

Earlier today progressive Democratic presidential candidate Marianne Williamson was interviewed by Michael Moynihan and Bari Weiss of The Free Press.

During this 12-minute interview, Marianne shared her perspective on the recently-concluded Republican National Convention and the current turmoil within the Democratic Party.

As with all of Marianne’s interviews, this one is well-worth checking out.

[The Democratic primary] was not a democratic process to this point, and it must be a democratic process now. We must open this thing up – and that doesn’t mean just shoehorning Kamala Harris or anyone else [into the nomination].

. . . Donald Trump has broken the mold, and the only way we’re going to defeat him is if we break the mold too. So none of this same-old same-old; none of this [DNC talk of] “We will decide who it is.” No, this has to be opened up. . . . This is the United States of America. We’re a democracy; it should be messy and it should be creatively chaotic. And I hope that that’s what we’ll get to because we have to do in the next two months what we should have been doing for the last year-and-a-half, and that’s having a robust, meaningful, powerful conversation about where America needs to be in the next four years.
