Last Friday, May 4, my friend Raul and I spent the afternoon following, in the words of poet Kahlil Gibran, "the footprints of spring." We experienced these "footprints," these emerging signs of spring, along Minnehaha Creek.
I've come to greatly appreciate and enjoy walking and exploring along this beautiful ribbon of water as it winds through the area of south Minneapolis where I've lived now for over six years. And of course it's always a wonderful thing to experience such beauty in the company of good friends like Raul.
It was a beautiful afternoon, to be sure; as I hope you'll see by the images I share today. Enjoy!
Come, my beloved; let us walk amidst the knolls,
For the snow is water, and Life is alive from its
Slumber and is roaming the hills and valleys.
Let us follow the footprints of Spring into the
Distant fields, and mount the hilltops to draw
Inspiration high above the cool green plains.
